Project 2 - Final Sketchup Model

After much more consideration and rethinking, i decided to strip the design down to a simpler form. The tower's structure i concluded to not be as important therefore i decided to use a rectangular shape instead of the initial octagon shape.

The 2 spaces is also separated clearly - one focusing on views, where the internal is kept dark, while the other room focuses on seclusion where lighting is at a more comforting level. Deciding on using natural light, the rooms and windows are placed so that each room would experience the level of sunlight that would be suitable for their function. Also taking note of the tower is to be placed within the northern hemisphere, the windows are placed where the observation area would receive the minimal amount of sunlight while the secluded area would be more exposed to natural sunlight.

The seclusion room is also made visibly hidden to people to provide the woman with a higher level of protectiveness. It is also, as mentioned made more comforting through the windows which allow sun light through during the day. While the observation space is open to allow her to have maximum views of the city below, and still keeping the room dark enough so people cannot see in but she can see out.

Previous ideas was also reused in this final design, and they included: slanted windows, tower and stairs as they all help formulate the final concept design.
